We have rowing boats and life jackets on site available for you to use. Some of the rowing boats on site will fit an outboard motor if you wish to bring one – please let us know prior to your trip if this is a requirement
  • Dogs are allowed by prior arrangement, but must be kept under control at all times and picked up after
  • Due to the lake’s rural location, we run our facilities on a solar system and gas. If you have any issues with facilities during your week please notify us ASAP and we will rectify them

Good results are achieved normally from Berniere by using the following tactics:

  • Heavy baiting each rod. 5kg per rod and top up after each bite on clear areas, a mixture of boilie and particle or boilie only
  • Heavier lead the better (drop off lead system)
  • Longer hooklinks of 12”+
  • Wafter hookbaits or tigers on hair works well

Of course, all anglers have their own favoured tactics, however the above is strongly recommended to get the best out of Berniere.

As with many carp lakes in France, there are some bream, poisson chat and crayfish present. We always recommend going prepared to use tiger nuts on the hair if needed.

The lake can have weed and so suits anglers comfortable fishing with this feature. To aid in this, boats are available for your use (with lifejackets provided that must be worn) and you are also welcome to use baitboats. Some of the rowing boats on site will fit an outboard motor if you wish to bring one. Please let us know in advance that this is needed.

A track around the entire perimeter of the lake, suitable for driving, makes access to all of the swims easy and also makes it very convenient for setting up and packing down. You are able to park right behind all of the swims for the week. The lake is totally fenced and as secure as we can make it.

Many of the swims do have steps down into the water to aid when water levels are lower during the summer.

Campervans

All swims are suitable to park a campervan up to LWB transit size. If a larger campervan then swims 1 & 2, 8 and 11 would be suitable.
